Lots of cars, lots of
bikes, lots of girlies. It doesn't get much better than this!
Sherbourne Conference Centre was a hive of activity once again as
the Checkered Flag Car Shop staged their 2nd regional car
show. This time around there were definitely lots more cars to stare
at. As with the previous show a week ago, there was room for
competitors in the open field to display their rides.
What was most
noticeable about this show was the lack of vendor booths. This took
away from the flavour a little bit but it made room for even more
cars. Unfortunately some of the competitors and exhibition cars
arrived late and we weren't able to shoot them all, but that can
always be expected at a Bajan event.
We begin our coverage with one of most popular cars at the show.
This is quite a feat as it was also one the most bone stock
cars at the show. We are referring to none other than the Toyota
Supra. Although it's not the twin turbo version, it was still
impressive. |

| One of
our favorite vehicles was the Ford F150. Sporting a brilliant red
paint job, this truck was created to command attention. Apart from its
massive size, the F150 sits on 22 inch chrome rims with Altezzas at
the back for completeness. To help pull this immense weight along, the
Ford's engine was enhanced by the addition of a supercharger. |
|
|
| Here is
something we don't see often at car show. Classic cars. These Fords are from
the seventies and are in their original condition. No paint work or
upholstery. Even the underside of the cars are clean. |
|
|
| Before
Bajans had easy access to used cars from Japan a MK1 Ford was the car
to have if you were into performance. Unfortunately, none were in the
pristine condition of this mustard coloured classic.. |
|
|
| Also
present was this vintage Jaguar replica by Cobra. Kit car enthusiasts
will be very familiar with this car. Although the car is a kit, casual
viewers would never know. The heart of this
fun car is a Jaguar V8 powerhouse. |

| Car show
fans who were at the last show at Farley Hill would remember a silver
Mitsubishi Mirage that was on display. It was okay but nothing to
shout about. Look at it now. This car has gone through a total
transformation for the better. It is now blue with a lovely
purple haze which highlights the curves and lines of this auto
brilliantly. The aggressive front kit complements the car well, along
with the small wing on the roof. The inside is decked out in blue and
white with blue Arospeed bucket seats. The only thing that we believe
could have been improved for the show was the trunk area. Although the
layout of the ICE was nice, the finish was a bit rough and could be
refined. |

Rolling deep! These
two Accords represented Honda well. They both had nice finishing
touches. The blue one was a bit more aggressive with its Japanese
style front bumper and hood. They both sported the Z3 front
fenders with the vents, mesh grille and aftermarket rear view
mirrors. These are just a few features of these cruisers. |

Team Turbulance from
St. Lucia came to the show with their well coordinated red and
white 2 door Nissan. This was a good effort considering that this
car is not a very popular choice in terms of customisation. We
hope to see these guys again next year. |

This early generation
Honda Prelude had a really clean setup in the trunk. The owner
also decided to go with the red and white theme. |

|
The Trinidad & Tobago
contingent brought their high wattage cars to the show. We think
the owner of the March may soon have to look for a bigger car
because he's quickly running out of space with all those amps and
speakers in the back. |
|
 |
 |
 |
|
The StreetVibes wagon
came out to add a couple more trophies to its coveted collection.
Nothing much has changed since the AutoExpo. The setup is still
as clean and loud. |

 |
|
Another car that was
on the scene is the ever popular 'Venom'. The ultra clean paint
job and body kit is always a joy to look at. |
 |
 |
 |
|
Last but not least is
the other big ride on show. The Pajero has a very muscular
'stance' and has been customised on the outside with an aggressive
front kit, large chrome rims and chrome trimmings. |
